Every January 1st we make promises and resolutions for the coming year. We resolve that we will have better health, finances, relationships and spirituality. It's amazing that we stand on the precipice of one single day with the thought that it will "magically" make a difference; that somehow that one single day will be the "threshold of change". New Year's Day seems to transform us into a gateway through time and space as the "new" year promises to bring renewed hope for the coming days ahead! My journey through life has been deep and reflective. I see many paths that life gives us and have come to realize I only need to choose the path that is in God's will. It’s not always easy but every day I walk through open doors and drive down the desolate highways of life with the hope that I am on the right track. Through the victories and trials I see that the human condition is fragile. Every person wants to be loved, needed, cared about, appreciated and respected. I have often asked myself "What makes New Year’s Day so special; why can’t I feel this renewed optimism on a daily basis?" If only we could learn how to be a better friend, how to love the unlovable, how to reach out to those in need and make a difference in their lives. Those are the things that change the world, not new diets or exercise programs, although they are great goals too!
I pray that this "New Year" will bring change in our hearts and minds. May you have a very Happy and Prosperous New Year! “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
1 Corinth 13:4-7
Life is a journey and each of us, although we have friends, spouses, family and loved ones by our side, ultimately our journey is our own. These are my stories, thoughts, ideas and sometimes just simple observations. My life is an open book! I share this with you hoping you will laugh, be inspired and get to know me a little better through these stories.
